This committee is supervised by State Forestry Administration and Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China.
History：This committee was established in December 1992. In December 2000, the 2nd committee was established.
Scope:fiberboard, particleboard, plywood, decorative material for wood-based panels, surface decorated wood-based panels, wood floorings, wood adhesives etc.
The main task: developing national and industrial standards of wood-based panels, and undertaking relevant technical work of the ISO/TC89 on Wood-Based Panels.
By the end of 2006, 43 national standards and 41 industrial standards under the direct responsibility of the SAC/TC 198 Secretariat have been published and actualized.
The Secretariat of the committee is located in the Research Institute of Wood Industry, Chinese Academy of Forestry.
