National Center for Quality Supervision and Testing of Wood-based Panels
Brief Introduction
The National Center for Quality Supervision and Testing of Wood-based Panels, established in 1988, is a unique professional national centre working on testing the performance of wood-based panels and related products in China. It equipped with the advanced instruments and apparatus and complete supporting facilities. The total area is about 820 square meters with about 600 square meters for laboratory, and it is composed of 6 departments: Administration Office, Technical Committee, Physical Lab., Chemical Lab., Identify Wood Species Lab., and Testing of Decay Resistance of Wood Lab.. There are more than 80 sets of instruments and apparatus worthy of RMB 5 million, including 10 large imported precision instruments and apparatus (each costs over RMB 100, 000 ).
Since the National Center for Quality Supervision and Testing of Wood-based Panels was established, it has been undertaking the national inspection to the production license of wood-based panels, and engaging in the quality supervision and inspection to wood-based panels and related products from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China and the State Administration for Industry and Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, and providing entrusted testing to wood-based panels manufactures and related units, and carrying out or taking part in formulating and revising state standards and profession standards, and taking other related testing works.
With our endeavor, we established a set of complete and strict quality assurance systems. At present, the number of staff is 30, including 3 research fellows (equivalent to full professor), 7 senior engineers and 14 engineers. All the staff passed the professional training and achieved professional qualification certificate. Meanwhile, all the staff has taken the fixed training. Carrying out the policy of strict requirement and scientific management, we promise that we can provide the best testing service and scientific, accurate, impartial and authoritative testing results for all the clients.

Main Responsibilities
- Undertaking the quality supervision and inspection to wood-based panels and related products from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China and the State Administration for Industry and Commerce of the People’s Republic of China
- Undertaking the national inspection to the production license of wood-based panels and quality testing of the product of the production license
- Undertaking appraisal of scientific and technical achievement of wood-based panels and related products
- Fulfilling the arbitration testing of quality of wood-based panels and related products
- Providing entrusted testing to quality testing of environmental label of the wood-based panels and related products
- Providing entrusted testing to the wood-based panel companies, manufactures and related units
- Carrying out or taking part in formulating and revising state standards and profession standards, and related test validating of the standards
- Directing and training technical personnel for product quality monitoring agencies of the local institutions of quality supervision and testing and enterprisesProviding consultation,
- popularizing and related service of wood-based panels and relevant knowledge
