The Standardization Research Division, Research Institute of Wood Industry, Chinese Academy of Forestry was established in June 2006. This is the first standardization institution for wood, wood composite and biomass material industry in China.

Main tasks: doing researches on standardization strategy, standard system,fundamental theory and key technical criteria formulation in making some important standards involving in safety, health and environment of wood and biomass material industry,organizing and undertaking standards for wood, wood composite and biomass industry; doing researches on international standards and undertaking relevant technical work of the ISO/TC 218 and ISO/TC 89; developing standard training and popularization; Managing the work of secretariats of SAC/TC41 on timber, SAC/TC198 on Wood-based Panels and Chinese Society of Wood Industry.
