Since China's Reform and Opening-up, the department pays important attention to communicate with international research institutes and enterprises in the related fields, and has been established good cooperation with Japan, America, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, UK and so on.International cooperation and communications is strengthened through international research cooperation, talents cultivation and international exchange visits and so on.In the late 1980's, the department, supported by FAO, introduced into a complete set of fiber board experimental apparatus from Austria, and particle board experimental apparatus from Germany.The experimental apparatus the department were improved greatly. In recent years, it also has been funded by many international projects such as Intemational Tropical Timber Organization(ITTO), World Bank loans, Japan International Cooperation Agecy(JICA) and so on.
